ECO BEACH HOUSE

WEST SUSSEX

  • Selsey is a small seaside town, eight miles south of Chichester on the southernmost point of the Manhood Peninsula. Its name is derived from the Saxon name of 'Seals-ey', or Island of Seals as it was at that time. Best known for its fresh lobster and crab (which is delicious) Selsey has a long history of fishing and still has its own fleet. The beach is shingle, but it stretches for miles along the coastline as far as East and West Wittering making it a popular spot in the summer.

  • Eco Beach House is a stunning, eco-friendly home with enviable views, a concealed lift, and direct access to the beach.

  • This design-led property has an upside-down layout, with bedrooms on the ground floor and a spacious open-plan living area on the first floor, to make the most of the breath-taking sea views.

Large windows frame the water at every opportunity, and draw you to the ocean beyond.

The sitting room has a peaceful palette of soft blues and neutral tones, with a wood burning stove and television.

The library, with its beautifully presented, covetable collection of books, with a secret bathroom hidden behind one of the bookshelves, offering possibly the best view of any room in the house.

The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with a simple, yet elegant dining area with panoramic views.

On the ground floor, there are 4 king-size bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each room has it's own private terrace and views across the sea or garden. There's also an internal lift, and a fully accessible wet room.

The owner, an artist, has a studio tucked away the ground floor too, and many of her beautiful pieces are exhibited throughout the property.

The outside space has also been thoughtfully designed. The Derek Jarmanesque garden provides the perfect spot for sundowners and a comfortable seating area with BBQ.
